A Long Weekend Finish

Over the Australia Day long weekend I decided to finish up the piece below.  This is for my partner in the Initial Heart Swap run by Swap Mama Cheryll.

I have had to keep the initial covered up for now, but I shall reveal the full pillow photo when my partner receives next month.

It's an unusual colour combination for me, but I originally started with the heart and the rest came together with strips from my scraps.  I do hope that my partner is going to like it, I will be posting it off on February 1st.

I'm really not sure what might take my fancy next, I may even make a start on another Blanket of Love.
Until next time, happy stitching/quilting

First Finish For 2015

Just a small stitch but it's the first finish of the year.
It was the bow that I started off with, I loved the colours and I could see it topping a round hanging wicker coaster.  So I searched through my stash to find the perfect design that would look good in those colours.  The design is part of The Prairie Schooler Book 160 "February".

I hope you like it.
Until next time,  happy stitching/quilting.

Final Exchange For 2014

Oops, nearly forgot to show you the Christmas Joy exchange I was in for Christmas 2014.
I sent to Loretta, and here is what I made and sent.

I made her two ornies, one stitched and one appliqued.

I received from Angela C.

The candle she included smells like Gingerbread and it is heavenly.  Thanks Angela.

I have started stitching on a small piece I want to send out as a gift, and I have also been putting some ideas together for the Initial Heart Swap I am in that is organised by Swap Mama Cheryll.  I have a vision, I just need to see if it will look right.

Well back to work for me tomorrow and the weather channel is showing a sweltering hot 41deg for us here in Perth.  Thank goodness for airconditioning.

Until next time, happy stitching/quilting.
