Birthday Gift For A Friend

Thought I would share a picture of the little gift I made for my friend BeckySC for her birthday recently.
Becky has always been so wonderful and kind to me and I consider her highly as a dear friend.  She is always soo giving to others, so I thought I would make her something special for her birthday.

When I was stitching the following design I already had the finishing idea in my head all along.  I had the perfect finishing cording for it and when I hunted through my beads I found a large enough one that I could put the cording through and use as a feature to the top.  I was really pleased with the end result and it made it to Becky safe and sound albeit a few days late.

Shakespeare's Peddler "For Ann" design

I also received my Winter exchange piece for the Seasonal Exchange blog from Sarah.  What a beautiful, colourful biscornu I received, with beads for added sparkle.  Its just lovely, thank you Sarah!

Thank you all for your lovely comments in regards to my "Marion" finish.  Some people asked what I was going to do for the finishing, well I would like to have her framed!
I would also like to let my followers and readers know that I have removed the word verification from my comments.
Until next time, happy stitching

Marion Is Finished!

My first ME stitch for 2012 is finished.  YAY!!!
I really enjoyed stitching this gorgeous La-D-Da design - (Thank You to Pokua for the loan of the chart :-)

I think I will now go back and stitch another block of my CHS Alphabet before starting work on my next exchange piece.

Until next time, happy stitching.

A Snowflake!

My exchange piece for the Seasonal Exchange Winter round has been received by Alison.

Heritage Stitches "Snowflake"
Stitched on Silkweaver fabric using white DMC.

I have also finished stitching and finishing the birthday gift for a friend and that is being posted off this week, and I started back on Marion with the dog now complete.  I have to admit that I'm not looking forward to the huge block of colour for the tree, its practically the height of the whole design and will, I'm sure, be quite tedious, but I must finish it and I know it will be lovely when its all done.

Until next time, happy stitching

Small Progress & New Stash

Since my last post I only stitched a little more on my CHS Alphabet as I had to make a start on an exchange piece.  That piece is now finished and winging its way over the ocean to its new home, so when that arrives I can show you my finish.  I also started working on a small birthday gift for a dear friend, I shall attempt the finishing today.

Here is the small amount of progress on the Alphabet.

My order arrived and I now have the floss to finish off Marion.  I will probably start back on that this weekend.  I also bought some lovely Gloriana Silk which is to be used when I start The Goode Huswife "Home Sweet Home", Lizzie Kate's new Flora McSample design 2011 Ornaments (I mainly bought this one for the Love one with the little robins), CCN "Simply Vintage" chart and Lizzie Kate's Santa 11 which was on special.

Until next time, happy stitching
