Long Weekend Approaching

I am really looking forward to this long weekend, my DH is taking me out to dinner on Saturday for my birthday and my parents are having our son overnight, so it should be a lovely night. My birthday isn't until Tuesday but DH didn't want to wait until the next Saturday for the dinner booking. I am also super excited as I have received my birthday parcel for the SBBC group and the person who stitched for me is Hazel. I wanted to hold out until my birthday to open it so I could have a lovely surprise on the day. I have also received my birthday parcel from Angela and I cant wait to get into this one aswell. Photos will be forthcoming on Tuesday dear friends.
I finished up my PS exchange piece and posted out yesterday, next I will be working on the HOE Xmas in July piece.
I did finish up reading Marley & Me, a lovely story with a rather weepy ending. Thanks to all for your suggestions of other titles I might like, I shall keep an eye out for them at my library.
Sorry no happy snaps today, but next post there will sure to be some lovely eye candy if Hazel and Angela have anything to do with it. Cant wait ladies!!
BFN and happy stitching one and all.

An Ornie & A Book

For the Stitching Bloggers Birthday Club my partner to send to for the year was Joke, her birthday was on May 15. I decided to stitch up the reindeer from PS Cranberry Christmas booklet and make it into a hanging pillow ornie for her christmas tree this year. It was a lovely stitch to do and I enjoyed it and the finishing off. Joke received the parcel a few days before her birthday but decided to wait until the day to open it. I included some stickers, fabric, a keyring, blending filament, floss rings, cording, robbin and a string of star charms to go with it.

I am still stitching away on my PS exchange piece, and I am also reading the book "Marley & Me" at the moment. Since my son wanted to join the local library, whenever he goes in and gets some books for himself I am also grabbing something for myself at the same time and getting back into reading again. I thoroughly enjoy reading True Crime stories aswell, if anyone knows of a good book in this genre please leave me a comment as I would love to hear your suggestions.

I had a super, fun filled weekend as my son turned 5 and we hired a bouncy castle and he had a couple of his friends around for a small party. I must say, I was pretty exhausted by the time they all left and could quite easily have gone to bed straight away. He thoroughly enjoyed himself and received some lovely gifts. My Dad took some photos and downloaded them onto a disk for me and I have to sort through them all tonight and see what came out.
Until next time, happy stitching.

Sampler Progress

I wish to start by saying thank you for all your lovely comments on my Mum's earring box. She absolutely loved it and the earrings I managed to find for her Mother's Day gift aswell.
I thought it was about time I put up a progress photo of my Hunt Sampler. I am stitching on this one inbetween my exchange commitments. It is an enjoyable stitch, especially when I can work on a new motif inbetween the edging, I did have a little frogging episode when I last picked it up which traced back right to the first stitch I placed in it for that section, dont you hate that!

I have been working on my PS exchange piece at the moment, last night I stitched a little whilst watching the final 3 on American Idol. I have never watched this show previously (only the first Australian Idol) but for some reason I got fixated to this Season from the first elimination show. And yes, I love Adam Lambert, what a talent!!! I personally would like to see Adam and Danny in the final two but who knows what might happen. If Adam wins or not, no matter what, I think this guy will be huge, I will definately be listening out for any upcoming songs he will release.

Until next time, happy stitching.

Mothers Day Earring Box

Its Mothers Day in Australia this Sunday 10 May, so I got a little jump ahead and made my Mum a small box using a tin topper design I had in my stash. I personalised it with the word "Mum" on top. I am planning on going to the shops on Saturday and finding a nice pair of earrings to go inside as her gift.
I chose my floss colours to match in with the cording and ribbon I already had and I added the little fabric rose detail to the front.

I have been doing a little more stitching on my Hunt Sampler and I should have a photo for you all to see in my next post. I have put it down now for a little while so I can concentrate on my next Prairie Schooler exchange piece.
Until next time, happy stitching

Another Spring Ornie

Here is the lovely spring ornie I received from Gaby, my partner in the ASOE Spring exchange. This ornie is just glorious, soo well done. The design is taken from a CCN chart and Gaby did such wonderful beading around the edge and also as the hanger.
I shall cherish this lovely finish, thank you Gaby.
Until next time, happy stitching.

Spring Ornie

I received word today that Gaby had received the Spring ornie I made for her in the ASOE group. I stitched Lizzie Kate's "Hello Spring" and made it into a small hanging pillow, I also included a small bee charm.

Until next time, happy stitching
